Hairdressing taught me to look at hair. Listening taught me to look at the person.
I am Muriel Pethoud, a hairdresser since 1987. Since my early days, what I love most in this profession is the relationship that forms during an appointment.
A profession discovered very early
My mother was a hairdresser. As a child and then a teenager, I spent time in her salon: I began with shampoos, then learned the first steps of colouring. I obtained my vocational certificate in 1987 and my professional diploma in 1989. I enjoyed hairdressing, but over time I felt that aesthetics alone was not enough to give full meaning to my practice.
The day I discovered another way of practising
I myself received an energetic haircut. That experience showed me that a hairdressing appointment could also become a time of listening, sensation, and attention to the person. In 2009, I trained in energetic haircut with Christine Dessoge in Lyon. I then continued my path with various workshops and training in craniosacral and energetic approach in 2014–2015.
A practice nourished by experience
For many years, I have explored energetic work through workshops, encounters, reading, and above all experience. My approach is personal: it rests on my intuition, without seeking to impose an explanation or a belief. Today, I choose to develop two services that bring together what matters most to me: the energetic haircut and the energetic care session.
